Féile an Dóilín is held over two weekends, a weekend on the sea and a weekend of land-based craic!
The August bank holiday weekend sees Ireland's largest Galway hooker regatta take to Greatman's Bay, in An Cheathrú Rua, Conamara. This festival is unique in that members of the public are given a rare opportunity to sail in one of the ancient Galway hookers, and celebrate the experience afterwards with a BBQ on the pier of Caladh Thadhg. The last weekend of September sees Féile an Dóilín take to the shore, but maintain a distinct flavour of the sea. Events for kids and grown-ups, everything from maritime exhibitions to road races, from the wacky Wheelbarrow Race to the dramatic Paráid na bhFathach (Parade of the Giant).
